My name is Shel. I’ve been fascinated by sleep and dreams since I was very young. Nightmares leave a lasting impression on a young mind. The surreal imagery and emotional response to something unnaturally frightening give us something to ponder and leave us curious about the subconscious mind.

I started college as a Psychology major but lacked the direction and sense of purpose at that point in my life. I have a natural artistic talent, so after changing majors many times and taking some time away from college to evaluate my life, I finally completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts at 27. I was lined up for a Minor in Psychology, but due to some unfortunate circumstances I had to drop my last psychology class in order to graduate on time. In retrospect, I probably could have taken my last remaining psych course over the summer, but I was ready to be finished with school.

Don’t believe all the articles you read. A Bachelor of Fine Arts doesn’t come with high unemployment rates unless you’re determined to work within your field. The job I have now rarely calls upon the art training portion of my degree, and I’m determined to continue my education outside the classroom. This blog will help me organize and share what I learn.

  1. Hey there, Shel! Interesting blog…I might have to spend some time here. Dreams are fascinating. ^_^

Anyway, I’m here to let you know that you’ve won my “comment on the blog for a chance to win my book” giveaway for March. On the chance that you didn’t realize you were participating and/or you don’t want the book (zombies…raaawwrrr…) you can let me know and I’ll re-draw. Otherwise I’ll need your address so I can send you your prize. ^_^

AH! Yay! Yes, I’m super interested in your book. I think I follow your facebook page, I will check and send a message there. Yes, there it is. Let me know if that’s okay.

It occurred to me I’ve never checked the messages for pages on facebook. I found where they go, since no one has ever sent a private message to one of my pages, I don’t know if it pops up a notification. I sent the message to your author page.

      • I apologize! I did get your message, I just forgot to reply to it since I’m on shift out West and my brain is like pudding. >. <
Your book is set to arrive on approximately the 14th. ^_^

Okay, thanks :) Sorry to be a pest. I didn’t know if you were checking a different page and waiting on me. And shhhhh, don’t say your brains are pudding. The zombies will have them for dessert!
